| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - Fine for a light transportable scanner I bought a new scanner because it was becoming obvious Epson was never going to get around to updating the drivers for the Perfection 2580 I had for 64-bit Macs and the workarounds (SANE) were crappy. I've been pleased with the Canon. Observations:
* It's very light and thin, which is nice, but it wouldn't take much abuse. * It takes power from the USB (no AC adapter). * It scans reasonably fast, but the reset is slow - not a lot faster than the scan. * The cover hinges along the long edge, which I prefer for books. * The cover locks at a bit past 90°, and then if you press two tabs, it will open flat. This is nice, but it wouldn't take much abuse to bust the mechanism. * I mostly use it with Acrobat, but the stand-alone software is fine too. * I'm happy with the quality of the scans. The colour balance and consistency is much better than the old Epson.
I haven't had a chance to try the film scanning attachment. + See Full Customer Review | |
